- Blackwood – The Blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon) is a stable and strong wood, has a stunning red-brown heartwood with a pale tan sapwood
- Boekenhout – The Cape Beach (Rapana melanophloeos) has has a pink-brown colour with a short, reticulated grain similar to oak.
- Candlewood – The Candlewood (Pterocelastus tricuspidatus) has a deep burgundy colour with a fine, beautiful grain.
- Wit Els – The Wit Els (Playlophus trifoliatus) has a distinctive pink-brown colour with occasional yellowish streaks, and interesting grain patterns
- Pine – Pines (Pinus canariensis) are among the most commercially important of tree species, valued for their timber and wood pulp throughout the world.
- Hard Pear – The Hard Pear (Olinia ventosa) is a stunning golden brown wood with a fine, wavy grain which gives it a characteristic rippled appearance
- Ironwood – The sapwood of the Ironwood (Olea capensis ssp. Macrocarpa) has an orange-brown colour while the heartwood is a distinctive streaked dark brown colour
- Yellowwood – The Yellowwood (Podocarpus latifolius) has a pale yellow-brown wood, undifferentiated between heartwood and sapwood
- Stinkwood – The Stinkwood (Ocotea bullata) has an olivebrown sapwood which darkens to a rich golden brown to dark coffee brown heartwood
- White Pear – The White Pear (Apodytes dimidiata) boasts an attractive grey-brown colour with occasional purplish streaks.
- Eucalyptus – The Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus cinerea)has many uses, colours to be achieved range from yellow and orange through green, tan, chocolate and deep rust red
All of our locally sourced timber is numbered by the Forestry Department. We keep track of all our logs – and can therefore issue a certificate of authenticity for most items sold. This serves as proof that our wood is part of the Green Protective and Maintenance program and that we are not a part of DEFORESTATION.
